Emily Lapetino

THERAPIST, LCPC

I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with 18 years of experience in private practice, agency and school settings. I believe therapy is a powerful tool for life transformation, and doing this work brings me great joy.

Clients typically find me to be warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth. I employ a positive, strengths-based approach in my work, and care deeply about helping others. I do want you to leave the counseling experience with specific gains, so I work to find a mix of relational and goal-oriented focus in the work. Gentle honesty with a lot of encouragement, as well as hopefulness in the capacity for humans to change, are hallmarks of my work.

I work with adults, teens and couples on a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, abuse recovery, trauma, grief and loss, relational conflicts, and stress management. Faith is a critical aspect of many people’s lives, and I can integrate that dimension into counseling as well. I also believe in holistic health, and consider the ways that physical and mental / emotional health are deeply intertwined.

I’m a mom of two kids and a new dog owner! I love to read, travel, have fun with friends and family, and explore nature. As a therapist, I believe that I can’t ask my clients to do hard things without doing the work myself, so I’m also committed to my own lifelong journey of growing and healing.
